Cara Mearns, the new Head of St Peter’s ELC is a passionate and experienced educator and brings with her 17 years of experience leading ELC to Year 4 learning communities in independent school settings.
Cara has a deep commitment to the Reggio Emilia Approach, a pedagogical choice that challenges traditional educational practices by valuing children's experiences and perspectives, promoting democratic principles and critical thinking.
A firm believer in developing strong community connections and empowering children's agency, Cara is dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for all.
With a Master of Education (Early Childhood), Cara’s vision for the St Peter’s Early Learning Centre is simple and is central to her work with young children; to provide the highest quality education and care experience for students and their families.
Cara is excited to bring her expertise to the St Kevin’s College community and contribute to the school’s ongoing mission of providing an exceptional education.
